Well I have been tardy in my reports. Since the last post a lot has happened.
The annual visit to Lincoln Steam rally, was attended by several members of the RDC, along with many new friends. It was great to see all of the steam engines in motion. It has been a long time since I have visited a steam rally and I really enjoyed seeing these wonderful machines and to breath deeply in the wonderful smell of steam and hot oil. The steam fun fair, powered and lit by the fairground engines.

The Asylum has been and gone. Not everyone could make it this year as The Palace of Curiosities had another booking and a supporting cast of RDC members were in attendance.
However we had a really great time and I must admit I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

It was with some disappointment that we had to pack up and return home.

The run up to Christmas was a quiet time with no outings. With the new brought the excitement of the 3rd Mess dinner. There were worrying times as the weather turned and the snow fell heavily. However the weather did not dampen our spirits and our little bit of the Raj came to Harrogate.

Our final outing came with the the visit to Blackpool to attend the Showzam festival. This festival is a celebration of the entertainment that have made Blackpool the town it is today. Many workshops (many of them free) where you can learn activities such as juggling and ballroom dancing and nearly every other entertainment skill in between. On the Saturday night we attended the Gala Ball (this years theme was the roaring 20's) which was brilliant fun with fantastic entertainment and fantastic company.

I would finally like to welcome Lt. S Patton, Chief test pilot at HMD Farnborough. Welcome and I look forward to seeing you at future events.

Until next time
